I never planned to write this book, then my mother died.

For years, I have worked with people experiencing grief, transition, signs, intuitive messages, energy, the unexplainable and the unseen. I could tell someone what I sensed, even deliver messages that came through during a reading or energy work. But I had never lost someone this close to me, so all my experiences with grief and losing a loved one was speculative to say the least.

When my mother died, suddenly all of those beliefs became personal. I found myself asking questions I had never truly had to confront.

Why hadn’t she visited me? Would I recognize her if she did? Did the energy work matter? Are soul contracts really responsible for everything that happens to us? Why do we feel like we need a spiritual explanation for tragedy?

And what if the most spiritual answer sometimes is simply…. I don’t know.

This book was written from inside my grief and one of the greatest realizations I have had through losing my mom is that perhaps our purpose here isn’t nearly as complicated as we make it.

Maybe our purpose here is to just live!
